The Hungerford Hill Classic wines are from the best regions of New South Wales. The wines showcase both their varietal and regional personality with clarity and intensity; they are versatile and compliment food.
Tempranillo is a great Spanish variety that thrives in cooler climates, producing light to medium bodied wines with deep colour and rich primary fruit flavour. The use of oak and subsequent balance of tannin and acid will vary between regions whilst consistently producing complex and intriguing wines.
Tempranillo ripens early and is perfectly suited to the high altitude Hesperia vineyard, part of the Tumbarumba region in the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The elevated, steep and rocky vineyard ensures intense black cherry fruit and a lush and savoury palate characteristic of the variety.
